Background info. : Mr. April is half Philipino (dad) and half Puerto Rican (mom). He hasn't seen his dad since his dad since he was 7 except for a brief conversation at the grandmother's funeral. He was a Sargent (spelling looks off on this word but spell check corrected it to this!) and field medic in the military (Army). He was going to go to medical school but decided he'd much rather spend his time doing other things. So, now he is a cardiology technician part time and a full time pacemaker rep. He's originally from Bronx/Queens and he's 37 y/o. He has a 12 year old daughter that lives with mom and her new husband in Georgia. He was married to his daughter's mom many moons ago and says their marriage ended because they got married young and just grew apart. They are still friends.
Ok now to the date deets: Well, he has one eye brow that's longer than the other, a right nostril that's just ever so slightly smaller than the left one and he sneezed one too many times! JUST KIDDING, but I bet that's what you expected to read! Honestly, he's close to my definition of perfect, the closest ANYONE has come to that definition-including the fantastic guy I was in an "engaged" relationship with many moons ago- that's sarcasm by the way!!! There's only 2 minor "things"- c'mon, you knew there had to be SOMETHING- . 1.) he talks incessantly about himself but I'm hoping that this is just because he's trying to impress or nerves and this will not be the case in the future. To his defence, he does realize he talks a lot but he would ask me something and then turn it around to be about him again before I was done talking. I'd rather him talk about himself than me share info. about me anyway, so it's not a huge deal... as long as it doesn't continue to be an ego-fest every time. 2.) Anyone who is up on MMA/UFC stuff will know what "cauliflower ear" is, and he has a slight one. It's definitely not a deal breaker to me, which is odd because I'm big on aesthetics of the face... builds character! He's does Ju Jitsu (or however it's spelled) and has friends that are into MMA/UFC seriously. I believe he trains with his "fighter" buddies so he get's pretty banged up. He showed up today with wounds from last night's practice- a bruised lip and cut ear. He's very friendly-I got a hug coming and going! He's fun to look at- yes, I'm ending that with a preposition. He paid- You know that determines my likelihood to warrant a second date. We got some grub at The Greene Turtle and afterwards he walked me to my car and said that we need to plan something again soon. So, when I got home, after pondering as I do, I sent him a text to see if he would like to join me at Boordy Vineyards next weekend to share in my siblings b-day festivities. I also mentioned that I hoped I wasn't jumping the gun and assuming he is interested. He said he'd love to and was going to see if I wanted to meet up again before then! YAY! I'm not sure when we will hang out again, hopefully before next Sunday but if not, hopefully on next Sunday! I'm looking forward to it, tremendously! I've never left a date so excited for a next one! I didn't want the date to end but he was tired since he got called in to his cardiology gig. I'll keep you all posted on Mr. April! I hope he sticks around to be my Mr. May as well... Mr. June? Mr. July? A girl can hope! :)
***UPDATE***
Ok, so Mr. April seemed so promising, but like so many Mr. Months before him, he turned out to be Mr. Weird! We chatted the whole rest of Saturday and then I didn't hear from him for the next 35 hours. Finally, after one last "hope you're ok" text Monday morning, he text back and said that he was really busy the night before due to being called in to work and he took Benedryl when he got home to regulate his sleep pattern and now he was groggy. I then text him back and told him, I figured he spent some time being called in but that doesn't make up for the past 35 hours. It also didn't make sense that he took sleep medicine that made him groggy when he was still on call for 48 hours. After that, I didn't hear anything from him. I'm going to assume that he was either married and realized he needed to cut ties before I put ALL the pieces together or he was hiding some other strange secret... who knows! Aren't there any normal, single males out there? On to Mr. May....
